What is zakah and why is it important?

In this article, we will talk about zakat in Islam, why it is important and is it a duty on every Muslim, how much it is worth and who is entitled to it.

Zakat is the third pillar of the five pillars of Islam, after you enter Islam and say the two testimonies, immediately after you perform the second pillar, which is the pillar and pillar of religion (prayer)

that the performance of prayer is a duty and it fixes the work of the slave, that your prayers are fixed and all works are.

What is Zakat in Islam

Zakat, zakat in Islam is very important and is the third pillar of the five pillars of Islam, Zakat cleanses people's money from the Haram and malicious ones.

The most important thing in zakat is to help the poor, the poor, the sick and the needy.

If all Muslims get their money, there will be no poor people on the planet. :

Said the messenger of Allah

(peace and blessings be upon him):

(Islam is built on five testimonies that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah and the establishment of prayer and the provision of Zakat and fasting Ramadan and Hajj of the house to those who can).

The messenger of Allah Muhammad (PBUH) has come and taught us how to pray, and all the worship of small and large, and it is stated in the Koran that Zakat existed 1400 years before Islam.

But when Islam came, he laid the foundations and rules for her, who has the right to take zakat in detail, and also mentioned who should and who should not.

Of those who deserve Zakat, mentioned in the book of Allah quran:

In Surah of repentance verse 60, in the name of Allah the merciful :

(But alms to the poor, the poor, the workers, the author of their hearts, in the necks, the Garmin, in the cause of God and the son of the way are a duty of God and God knows, is wise.)

Meaning of Zakat

Zakat in Islam means the arrival of a certain amount of money at a specific time, after which you take out a percentage of it for the poor and poor.

Example of Zakat :

You own 3,000 $ and it's been a whole year, whether it's money in the house or the bank, or you own gold of that value or anything, you're going to give 2.5 percent of that money, for example 2.5 percent is equivalent to 75 $, a zakat for you for this year.

We do zakaah to help the poor and to get closer to Allah, for his almighty saying, (he has succeeded from zakaaha and has been disappointed from its intrigue).

Zakat brings joy to the hearts of the poor and the needy, telling them that we have not forgotten them and helping them in difficult times.

The messenger of Allah, Muhammad (PBUH), has urged him to perform Zakat, especially in its time, which is the last three days in the month of Ramadan, the month of mercy and forgiveness, the month of fasting

As well as the saying:

(take from their money alms purify them and provide them with it) .

God's great sincerity

What are the terms of Zakat

Zakat is two types of zakat for money and gold and others in the full year cycle, and the second type during the month of Ramadan, the release of zakat by the head of the family on the family members.

The value is nominal and a small amount, as for the conditions of Zakat are :

1) The first condition or sincere intention of God to help others, and to be in secrecy between you and the needy, but do not compromise his dignity.

2) Zakat is obligatory on every adult and Sane Muslim human being.

3) Do not answer Zakat on the little and the crazy, but take out the guardian of the little or the crazy child in his place.

4) Zakat is required to reach a quorum, and one year of such money or gold and others.

5) Zakat must be taken out on time, three days before Eid al-Fitr.

6) Search well for zakat recipients (the poor, the poor, the needy, the sick and orphans.... And others).

7) Provide zakat in full confidentiality in order to be helping others, not agitating them or underestimating them.

8) One of the most important conditions of Zakat is the condition that the owner is halal, the source of halal funds and should not be mixed with the Forbidden funds.

9) Providing Zakat to its beneficiaries and not defaming or filming.

10) It is best to give Zakat to a person or family who is really in need of help and knows them well.

Who is eligible for zakah?

It is mentioned in the Qur'an who are entitled to zakat, and they are 08 people we will mention and the proof of this in Surah of repentance verse 60,

as our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught us how to perform it, when to do it and how much we give in particular of our money.

Says Allah Almighty in Surah of repentance verse 60 :

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful:

(But alms to the poor, the poor, the workers, the author of their hearts, in the necks, the Garmin, in the cause of God and the son of the way are a duty of God and God knows, is wise.)

God's great sincerity

1) poor:

The poor is the first to pay zakat, because the first affected by the problems and worries of the world, you find him with a limited income, exposed to hunger and diseases and cold and open, they have no monthly income or you find them completely unable to work.

All the poor must be identified and counted to help them not only with money, even with food, drink and clothes.

2) poor people:

The poor are the second persons answer them Zakat, poor thing is that you see helpless patient does not have a living, the answer which the zakat of various styles.

Not only in the holy month of Ramadan but at all times, so that their conditions improve so recommended Islam and Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.

3) working on them:

Employees or those who collect zakat, this category is appointed by the Ministry of religious or Islamic Affairs, tasked a group of pious and safe people to collect zakat on people and cities, tired of collecting it and distribute it to their beneficiaries, they have a share of those funds.

4) author their hearts:

The author means their hearts are people who are weak in faith such as New Muslims, or who do not care about the holy Islamic religion, give them Zakat to prove them and support them by following the right path, which is the path of truth.

5) necks:

Necks and the meaning of a human being subordinate to a human being and this existed in the era of jahiliya, where princes and people with a lot of money had slaves who cared for sheep and performed difficult tasks, from planting, cleaning and guarding.

This category has the right to zakat, but thankfully this category has become non-existent, every Muslim has become free with his life and belonging.

6) Garmin:

Ghamreen is every Muslim man who has many debts, debts not for Trade, Industry and others, but the debts of life, food, drink and diseases, and they are two kinds :

Fine for fixing the same pain:

He is the one who has debts and is unable to pay them, those debts due to diseases and eating and drinking and abandoned for the hardships of life.

Fined to repay the need:

He is a man who is in debt in the matters of the world and in dire need of the simplest things of clothes, household items and other things.

7) for God's sake:

For God's sake and the meaning of jihad, jihad has two types :

Jihad for the things of the world or jihad for personal interests, these are not permissible Zakat.

As for those who went to jihad for Allah, Nusrat al-Islam and Nusrat al-Haq for falsehood, this category deserves Zakat because it is excessive in its family for the sake of Nusrat al-Din.

8) the way Son:

Ibn Sabil is a migrant seeking a livelihood in a country other than his own, but after a while he became poor without money, in which zakat is permissible to return to his home country.

These 08 people are entitled to zakat, they must be helped to improve their circumstances and their lives.
